I finally got a chance to get some more work sone on Quinn's costume. Originally, she wanted to dress "Goth", but she wanted to dress a bit more "adult" than I'm willing. So, she changed her mind. I know I mentioned having to get a hula hoop, but I did't say why.

It's not completely put together yet, and it's hanging up, just to keep the pet hair off.

It's science fair time! Quinn has been winning ribbons for her fair projects since second grade (1st place in 2nd and 3rd grade, 2nd place in 4th grade and 1st place last year in 5th grade). I told her that the competition has grown from 90 kids to 300, so she's being realistic (I hope) about her possibilities of placing this year. We all just wish they'd do away with the whole thing!! I took this picture before taking her to school this morning. She did her project on wireless networks and their security.

P.S. Yes, she used my cricut and the Zoobaloo Cart to cut her letters

We only let the cats on the kitchen table since it's their only escape from the dog, and they are taking FULL advantage of it! It's still pretty rare, however, that they are all together at the same time.

Can you believe I've NEVER had a Snickerdoodle? There's going to be a bake sale to support the skaters at the annual costume party next weekend, and I wanted to make something new. I found this recipe and it's awesome! Makes 60 cookies!!! YUMMO! This was my "trial" batch. I'll have to make a fresh batch next weekend.

A friend of mine is a preschool teacher. She had asked me to make her some pumpkins "that open". She's doing a holiday project with her class on "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater". The kids are going to glue Peter's wife on the inside. 40 Pumpkins! I wanted to have them open like a book, but figured it was a bit easier to attach an eyelet and have them flip up at the top.

What a stroke of luck! I needed to get a hula hoop for Quinn's Halloween costume (wasn't really sure what size...and, yes, she's changed her mind AGAIN). I didn't think I'd be able to find one anywhere this time of year, but the Dollar Tree had them! WOO HOO!

Ya know, you never know when the opportunity for a POTD will present itself. I had finished doing the laundry (surprise, surprise) and went back in to work a bit on adding bling to Quinn's skating outfit. I just happened to look in the dryer, and lo and behold, there's Chloe (aka "Bear"). She decided to nap in there since it was still warm. I guess I woke her up?

Quinn and I were watching The Simpson's tonight, and I got up to take Kai outback. Before the back door even closed, Quinn came outside in tears, saying her stomach really hurt, as well as her head. She never gets THAT upset (she was sobbing). I got Ken and he decided to take her to the ER. So, we got her to the ER and the I started feeling sick myself! Turns out she may of had a slight case of food poisoning. She was fine, and went back to school on Monday. This was "Baby's First Trip to the Emergency Room".

Quinn wants to be "Goth" for Halloween this year. I have no idea what to do for her! But, I found this cute t-shirt on clearance at Target and the Converse high tops seemed to be okay too. I have no idea what else to get. What happened to being a Princess? I guess those days are LONG gone.

The Skating Director gave me this dress a few weeks ago because it had a tear in the mesh and it couldn't be sold at the Pro Shop. I was able to stitch it closed, but I can't stand being able to see the seam. I'm still trying to figure out a way to hid it. No rush, it's still way too big for Quinn to wear anyway.

Quinn was telling us that she felt her violin was getting too small for her to play, so we took her back to the music shop to be measured. Sure enough, after two years playing a 1/4 size, she's moved up to 1/2 size. She won't let me take her picture while she's playing, so it's just a pic of her violin. I need to get her a new case ID....it's still her 4th grade tag!

Quinn get so excited about Halloween, that she HAD to start bringing stuff down from the attic. This spider will crawl across the floor, singing the most annoying song EVER and she just loves it! I think she enjoys freaking out the cats more, though!

Well, it's done. Another season is gone. Not that I bothered with the pool even once this summer. Normally, the water temp reaches the low to mid 90's. This year, the warmest it got was only 82 degrees. Sorry, that's just not warm enough for me! BBBRRRRRRR!

I found what could be the last $1.00 stamps at my Target. That place was a mess! I found the punch in the clearance isle. It's a stamp and punch in one, and comes with 5 tiny little clear stamps, all flower shapes.

I love this mirror. I had painted this a long time ago. It says "Cead Mile Failte" which is "One hundred thousand welcomes" in gaelic. It's just a pain to dust because of the raised lead lines.
