Quinn wanted some "stuff" to decorate her locker. I'm finding out that in Middle school, it's ALL about your locker. The Mickey is blinged out with stickles, so is the tiny Tink. The denim is actually cut from her old jeans. I put some magnets on the back so she can use it to hold her extra pens/pencils. I'm still trying to figure out how the pink and green (vinyl) skulls and green and blue guitars go with Mickey Mouse?

We took Quinn back to the ice arena (becoming our home away from home) to get in some practice. While we were there, I decided to run to ACM right down the road to see what I can get. Here's the loot. I lucked out and got a few things on clearance, too.

Quinn made this at Xpress It Camp. It's suppsed to be a "compost jar" (because the theme of the week was "going green") but I think it'll work just as well as a cookie jar. I even made a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies to put inside!

We had some pretty nasty storms come through here last night. There's a bunch of tree branches in the yard. Even the swing on the deck was blown over! No real damage, though. Thank goodness.

Quinn's really into nail polish. The brighter the color, the better. I picked up a bottle of orange and let her paint my toes again. It took some getting use to, but whatever!

We took Quinn up to the Pick Up FS session at the arena so she can get some more practice in before her real lessons start. She worked really hard on her one foot spins. She's actually getting a lot better at them, and just keeps trying to spin faster and faster. This pic really does her no justice. While she was there, she met a girl who was in camp with her who is a more advanced skater. She had Quinn trying to do sit spins and she actually didn't do too bad for her first time!

Quinn went to her 6th grade orientation today and got her schedule. They go on a "Day 1", "Day 2" schedule, which may take some time to gt used to. So, I took Quinn's white board and made her a calendar so we can track what day it is, and what classes she has.

The pro shop called, and Quinn's skates were delivered. So, of course, we were off to the ice arena to try them out. She's happy with them, she just needs to break them in a bit.

Quinn's spending this week at a pottery camp, so I've got a few hours on my hands. I spent today trying to come up with some Halloween cards for my nephew and neice. Instead, I made a huge mess!

Ken and MIL went fishing this morning. It's becoming a Sunday Morning ritual anymore. He was so proud of this catch he had to send me a pic from his phone. He said it was 14 inches long and weighed over a pound. No, he didn't keep it.

On our way to to my nephew's birthday party, we were listening to Philly Sports talk radio. ALL they could talk about was Michael Vick being signed by the Eagles. I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the games this year. I don't care how good a player he is. I think I'd rather have T.O. back!

Last day of Freestule Camp, so we were there for the performances. They did a great job, considering they only had a few hours to coordinate everything! Quinn had a BLAST!!

I've been trying to upload the video of her performance, but I think the file might be too large. I'll see what I can do.

After a long day on the ice, Quinn is relaxing on the chair watching cartoons. Of course, the new Zuca bag has to go EVERYWHERE she goes. MAN! Those things are expensive! Between the Zuca and the new skates I had to order for her, I've spent a total of $270 at the ice arena! This is getting more and more expensive.

I know it's only August, but since I'm not much of a card maker, I wanted to get a jump on the holidays. I only made four of these, and I really like them. I used the swiss dots folder on top, and the snowflake folder on the bottom. The ribbon is light blue grosgrain. The snowflakes are actually cut out of the blue paper from the metalic stack, but they look silver. I also added blue self adhesive gems to the centers. I've got a few more ideas, but I can't get them to work out right. It's so frustrating!

Quinn starts camp tomorrow. This week, she'll be at the Ice Arena for Freestyle Camp. She'll have both on and off ice training, and she's looking forward to a chance to try out the harness they use to teach jumps! THAT will be a blast! I had to make her snacks for lunch, and since the marshmallows were going tale, this is what she's got. Hope she's happy with them! I can't remember the lasst time I made rice crispy treats!

SHE DID IT! Kai graduated from her Beginner Class at PetSmart! WOO HOO! She can sit, stay, leave it, walk on a loose leash, come when called, shake, "dance", give hige fives, lay down, and speak. Some of these we taught her before the classes started. I'm just glad we're done! She'll have a special dessert tonight, too. I got her some frosty paws! LOL!

Quinn had her heart set on ice skating today, but her friend called and had to cancel. She called all of her other skating frineds and not ONE of them was home or available on short notice. I felt so bad for her! I decided to let her (finally) pick out another Beta fish and them took her (and MIL) to Cold Stone. She also decided we'd have "movie night" so we stopped at RedBox at Giant and this is what she picked. I hope it's good, I haven't heard much about it.

Quinn is all packed up and ready for her sleep over at her friend's house. They've hardly had any time to get together this summer, so I know they are going to have a blast!

Quinn has been begging for a hair wrap, even though she had the chance to get one done while we were in Disney. So, I gave it my best shot. She seems to like it, so I guess it's good enough.

It's finally raining! We are in DESPERATE need of a good soaking. This rain was pretty hard, but unfortunately, it didn't last too long. Some places here actually had tornadoes, and houses lost roofs. YIKES!
